A man told me that he believes that when he dies that there will be nothing after that. He’s wrong.
Another man told me that he believes he will automatically just go back to God. He’s wrong too.
Another man told me that he believes that God will let him into heaven no matter what, but that if it is conditional, he was not interested. He’s wrong too, and since it is conditional, both he and the previous 2 men have obviously opted out out.
What these men believe does not change the Word of God. Be careful what you believe.
God is not mean. We separated ourselves from God when Adam sinned. We have a sin nature. We continue to sin. He did His part to give us a chance to opt out of punishment.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:16
Believe in this verse means to trust Jesus for your Salvation.
God continues to do His part. Jesus, our Sacrificial Lamb, is forever accepted.
Will you do or have you done your part?
I can tell you about Jesus. Your family can tell you about Jesus. But only you can choose. The choice is yours and yours alone.
You will be held accountable. There will be no bailouts, no relief fund, and no procrastination. When the door closes on your opportunity, there will be no filing extensions for more time.
The debt will be called in. If you have not trusted in Jesus to pay it, you will be judged and found lacking. The consequences are eternal.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:11-15
What about those of us who are saved? The judgment seat of Christ is for believers. There is judgment for the purpose of rewards for those who have received salvation.
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
2 Corinthians 5:9-10
LIFE APPLICATION
Key Focal Verse:
And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:16
Today’s challenge is to search your heart. The saved will be judged for the purpose of rewards. Will you receive rewards? Or will you be found lacking?
