Many of the smaller local ministries reach out into the streets. These local ministries are making a difference here in Alamance County, NC. The communities have benefited greatly because of their good works. Many souls have been won to our Lord.
Have you ever considered the difference they are making in your community? They are leaving a legacy of lives changed.
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
John 4:35
Now is the time to spread the gospel. We can change the face of America in the process. Many of our local ministries are in reality local missionaries. They have devoted their lives to serving God fulltime. We need to pray for them as they reach out.
Sometimes their budgets and resources are slim. Have you ever considered supporting a ministry that is targeting the streets, troubled youth, or men or women trying to get back on their feet?
You might be surprised at how simple that really is. I know one of our local ministries makes and sells stew from time to time to raise money – and we have to eat anyway. Some ministries need and can use your old computer. When you upgrade you might want to remember them. When your children and grandchildren get too old for those crayons and unused stickers, a local children’s ministry could put them to use.
Of course local ministries can always use cash, and new things, but my point is that there are a lot of other ways you can also support them simply by redirecting some of your slightly used resources to them instead of the curb.
Although I have talked a lot about stuff, we know the heart of ministry is sharing the gospel. However, we also know that sometimes folks listen better with a full stomach or a roof over their head. Ministries have administrative needs. When they receive help in that direction – an old computer for example, it allows them to do more with their other resources to provide that meal or roof in order to be able to witness. Every day we draw a day closer to seeing our Lord. We need to be about His business.
Please continue to pray for revival in America, and also please pray for these ministries that are working hard in her streets to reach the lost.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14
America will change as her heart returns to God, and He heals her.

Today’s challenge is to consider ways you can reach the struggling either on your own or through supporting or contributing to a street ministry. One more verse:
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11
As we send God’s Word into the streets, it won’t return void.
