Are You Willing to Succeed?

Success depends on 2 things. You must know what to do, and you must be willing to do it. Many folks know what to do. Less are willing to do it. If you are willing, you have a great opportunity to be successful. The hard part is behind you – or is it?

Being willing is a matter of leadership. What kind of leader are you?

To be a good leader, you must be willing to make the hard decisions, and you must make the right decisions. You will be confronted with choices. You will be held accountable for each and every one of those choices too.

If you are going to be successful, you must be willing to give up a lot. Jealously will take hold of friends, and your decisions may drive others away too. Success will often make demands on your time. Most successful people give of their time to mentor others.

Ultimately, what will you do? Will you waiver in your honesty? Will you go along with the crowd or will you stand up for what you know is right? Will you begin to live in what many consider the gray areas of life? Will you lose your commitment to what you believe is right?

Will you compromise to keep those friends? Will you heed the complaints of others?

Success – in life and in business– requires commitment. If you really want to be successful, you must know to whom you are committed. Your focus must remain on the Lord. Jesus must be the anchor of all your decisions. He must be the foundation.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Matthew 7:21-27

The more confidence you have in your decisions, the better leader you will be. Our confidence comes when we follow God in all things. I encourage you to be the responsible leader God meant for you to be.

LIFE APPLICATION

Key Focal Verse:

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Today’s challenge is to ask God to help you successfully stand on His Word and follow Him. Ask Him to give you the wisdom and the strength to always do the right thing.
