Is God Asking You to Do Something You Don’t Want to Do?

I had 2 very different events back to back. The first one I had more control over than the second. There were a lot of great folks working on the project, and I knew it would all come together. The second was a bigger unknown. Where the first was a task, the second was a spiritual challenge. It required a step of faith. I agreed to do it because God brought me to it or it to me depending on how you look at it.

Are you trying to find the faith to do something God has asked you to do?

I prayed. I requested prayer. I prayed more. On the way to the event, I prayed referencing the scripture where Jesus says not to worry about what you are going to say, it will be given to you – although my life wasn’t in jeopardy. You know the verses.

But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.
Matthew 10:19-20

When the event came to an end, I had not been aware of exactly how much time had passed. It actually caught me off guard a little. Looking back, I realized how God had led me all the way. He had given me the words I needed. He had used a friend to encourage me. Other things that were said that day encouraged me too. God did not let me fall.

That was the day that I really fell in love with radio.

God always asks me to do things that are not easy, but He always makes it easy when I do what He asks. What God had put before me was an unscripted live interview. I like to prepare, but I could only prepare so much when I did not know exactly what might be asked.

When God asks you to do something, you still need to try to do your best. You still need to take the steps you think necessary to prepare. However, don’t be surprised to find that what you concerned yourself with the most, God had already covered.

Radio is not something that I would have picked for myself years ago. It has been something that God picked for me. A lot of people can be reached for Jesus through radio.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

As for me, I will walk in the works God has planned for me. What will you do?

LIFE APPLICATION

Today’s challenge is to ask yourself what you will do. Will you miss the blessing from walking in the works that God has for you simply because you let fear or dislike of what you think something is all about stand between you and what God has for you to do?

God has uniquely designed and gifted you to do something. He knows better than anyone else what that something is. Step out in faith and travel the journey God puts before you! Realize your winning potential by living boldly for Jesus!
