Calling All Prayer Warriors

I got some very exciting news the other day. I jumped up out of my seat and screamed out loud in excitement. I jumped up and down in my den like big kid. God had given me a gift! The gift was simply that God had encouraged me so very much by something He was doing!

When is the last time you got that excited about something God did for you?

Prayer Warriors, I’ve been asking you to pray for revival for our country. We need to remember that revival really has to start with each of us individually. Each of us needs to get more excited about God. Each of us needs to seek His will for our own lives and for our country. When we are excited about God, the excitement will spread to others.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16

What would America look like right now if everyone in government were a practicing Christian seeking God’s will for their own life and for our country? Wouldn’t that be awesome?

We have so many viewpoints right now about the direction we need to take America. As long as we are talking about what you want or what I want, we may not ever get to what God wants.

The answer to everything lies with God.

Instead of concentrating on our getting our way, we should concentrate letting God have His way. Prayer Warriors, we need to ask Him specifically what He would have us to do.

Our first Congress spent hours together in prayer and Bible study. Evidently it was more important to them than what they were going to do next, because whatever they were going to do next, they definitely wanted God’s direction and blessing on it.

We talk about the government like it’s them against us. It might feel like it at times, but let’s look at it another way. The government is made up of folks just like us. They need Jesus just like we do.

If we want them to have Jesus, we need to do what Jesus commanded us to do.

And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
Luke 14:23

Let us remember, revival has to start with us and spread outward to our family and friends. We need to get excited! We need to go into the hedges and highways and compel them to come in.

LIFE APPLICATION

Key Focal Verse:

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
John 10:27

Today’s challenge, Prayer Warriors, is to pray for revival to start with us. Ask God to help you get excited about what He is already doing.
