Fearfully, Wonderfully, and Purposefully Made
By Jean A Sturgill | March 8, 2010
I remember learning that atoms are the basic building blocks of matter. Now, scientists say that leptons and quarks are the basic building blocks of matter. The electrons, protons, and neutrons that make up an atom have these smaller parts. Quarks come in 6 varieties – up, down, top, bottom, charm, and strange.
Let’s talk about the intricacies of creation!
We could go on from quarks and protons to atoms and cells. We could discuss DNA and RNA and all the special functions of each part of our body.
If you believe we are here by accident, let me refer you to back to quarks. After you research what that is, does, and how it exists and doesn’t exist, I think you will be amazed. I know I was.
Let’s take a closer look at how man was created.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:27-28
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Genesis 2:21-22
God spoke the world into existence. Yet, God took a more personal approach with Adam and Eve. Notice 5 things about how God purposefully and deliberately created man.
First, God created man in His image. Second, He gave him dominion over the animals. Third, He breathed into Adam’s nostrils, and Adam became a living soul. Fourth, Eve was taken from Adam’s rib, and finally, God gave Eve to Adam. She was a gift.
Just like God had a plan for Jeremiah before Jeremiah was born, He has a plan for each of us. The plan for Jeremiah’s life can be found in Jeremiah 1:5.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
Jeremiah 1:5
From the start, God initiated a relationship with His creation. God created us with care. He cares for us, and He has a plan for us.
LIFE APPLICATION
Key Focal Verse:
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
Psalms 139:14
Our challenge today is to realize that human life is precious. Your life is precious. When God created Adam and Eve, He was reaching out to man. He is still reaching out to us today. Ask God what His perfect plan is for you!
